Extenda recently went live with its new Mobile Point of Sales (POS) for a market leading customer in a couple of UK, Danish and Swedish stores. The new Extenda mobile POS, iOS based, is a “thin” POS application using a phone camera for scanning and iZettle for card payment.
Using portable devices makes the POS much smaller and, of course, mobile. This enables selling anywhere in the store without the need for a fixed selling point and offers queue busting, speed up checkout process and more selling space. Mobile POS is also a very good option for retailers as extra and spare POS since they take up less space and are easy to start up when needed. They can also be used at sale events (lot of customers during a short period of time), during sale peaks or if a regular POS is out of order.
Mobile POS also improve the customer experience by personalizing the shopping experience and enabling store staff to spend more time with the customer. A client could for example pay directly in the fitting room or where he got the help wanted.
The Extenda team is currently working on developing Mobile POS in more countries.
